Company Overview

3DCrystal.com is a technology-based company specializing in subsurface laser engraving of optical glass. The company develops and applies proprietary systems that convert two-dimensional images into three-dimensional coordinate data for laser etching within solid crystal.

Founded in 2004, 3DCrystal.com has production facilities in Florida USA, Toronto Canada, and London UK. It serves both consumers and institutional clients globally. Independent purchasers utilize the company website to order custom 3D gifting items. Business customers either employ the company to purchase unique custom awards, or acquire technology designed by 3D Crystal to produce the items themselves.

3D Crystal designs hardware branded as 3D Laser Box (JetMini, Drone, Rocket) and software branded as Cockpit3D. Generally, customers purchasing machinery and software are seeking to integrate subsurface 3D laser machines into their retail stores and tourist souvenir gifting venues.

Solutions offered reflect an integration of software engineering, artificial intelligence, and artistic design — all applied within the personalization industry.

Founder Biography

Mr. Riyaz Datoo founded 3DCrystal.com while researching and experimenting in the fields of optics, imaging, and consumer design. Subsurface laser engraving was first invented for industrial tracking and marking within glass bottles. Riyaz sought an application for this technology in the consumer sector and mobilized a team to build one of the world’s first ever compact air-cooled YAG lasers operating at 532nm frequency.

He credits his employer at the time (Procter & Gamble) for allowing him to test his vision with a 1-year leave of absence to focus on research and engineering despite having national responsibilities overseeing P&G’s Health & Beauty portfolio. Ever since, he has helped innovate the SSLE industry, contributing much to its growth while encouraging many start-up entrepreneurs to enter and succeed in the lucrative landscape.

He is a dad to two daughters and a son. Following that, he is a public speaker, teacher, and current acting President at the company he founded over 2 decades ago (3DCrystal.com).

He leads teams situated in Canada, USA, UK, Ukraine, India, and China. His leadership combines a business background with a focus on scalability, intellectual property protection, and strategic marketing. He completed his BBA at the Schulich School of Business and is engaged in the executive program at the Harvard Business School.

Product and Process Description

Each system employs proprietary 2D to 3D conversion for quick and accurate rendering and production. What formerly had an output time of 12–24 hours is achieved with 3D Crystal technology in minutes.

This innovation has resulted in recognition by the Federal government and collaborations with major brands, Fortune 50 companies, celebrities, and theme parks/tourist venues globally.

Riyaz is often quoted as saying, “competition is healthy, collaboration is healthier.” As such, he has instructed that Cockpit3D remain laser agnostic so that users can enjoy the experience of 2D to 3D conversion in minutes irrespective of the subsurface laser manufacturer they decide to purchase from.

Process data and product imagery are available to qualified media professionals for technical, PR, or educational reference.
